By request I have created an adult-sized sock monkey mitten pattern. I would have perfered to use a tan for the sock monkey, but I was completely out at the time and had to settle for what I had on hand. One bad thing about living in such a remote Alaskan town is that I can not just jump in the car and drive to the nearest fiber shop. In my case the nearest yarn store is 330 air miles northeast.
About the mitten...
It was created with regular acrylic worsted weight yarn and a size H crochet hook. Worked from the tip of the fingers to the cuff in single and double crochet stitches. The gauge is 4 stitches and 4 rows to an inch.
When laid flat the measurements are:
Cuff: 4 1/2 inches across
Hand: 4 1/4 inches at widest point and 7 1/4 inches from the tip of the finger to the beginning of the cuff.
Thumb: 2 3/4 inches in length.
